Benson's Blessing

Here are some pictures from Benson's blessing. He looks grumpy in his little suit. Thanks to all of you that were able to come. My wonderful sister Treasure came all the way from Arizona and Mandy, Josh, Jenny and TJ came from St. George. Thanks for coming so far. We love you guys!!!!! there are also some pictures we took with my Parents and my sisters minus Anna, she always leaves to early.

Memorial Day

We had a great memorial day. We started it out with a hike. We hiked up a place called Adam's Canyon it is a very pretty hike, and the best part is we can walk to the trail head from our house. it is a 3.5 mile hike and should only take 2 hours round trip but it took us 4 long hours because we took kids and i carried the baby the whole time. Plus there were a ton of people so we had to stop on the hard and narrow parts to let people pass but it was worth it, there is a 40 foot water fall at the top and we got to stand in the spray from the falls and cool down before we headed back home. Here are just a few pictures from the hike. After that we went to my Dad's for a BBQ and had lots of fun there. Then we went to my brother Brandon's and his wife Valee's house for a quick visit with them and Jared's little brother and wife and baby. Then we came home and the boys crashed they were so tired from the long day.

We made it to the top!!!! The boys did a great job on the hike. It is a hard hike for little kids. Parker was the first one up to the top and the first one back to the bottom.

Pinewood Derby

Yesterday Parker had his first pinewood derby for scouts. This was Jared's first time also because he never got to do one when he was in scouts. So there was a lot to learn about what make the car go faster and what body shape is better ect. Parker did not win any races put had lots of fun racing his car. Jared cut it out for Parker but he pretty much did all the rest. Parker we are so very proud of you for your had work and are very glad you had fun and didn't get mad that you didn't win. We are excited to learn from our mistakes and win some races next year.



If you look close you can see Parker is only wearing one shoe. That would be because he threw his other shoe up in the basketball net trying to help a girl get her's down and his got stuck to. Parker is waiting at the finish line for his car.


The guy that did the races brought a special prize for the person who lost the most races and yep you guessed it that was Parker:) after he got his prizes he was glad to be the loser.

Family home evening.

We went to the classic fun center up here in Layton. Every Tuesday you can go and do any activity for 2 bucks, it's great. The boys had lots of fun and get really tired climbing in the Pirates Cove and jumping around in the bouncing area.

Mothers Day.

I had a great Mothers Day. Parker made my breakfast the night before and put it in the oven on Mothers Day.





The boys also helped me make cookies to take to Jared's brothers for our Mother's Day dinner. We had a great time with Jared's family, we always love getting together with them.







Benson and Kairi. they are 12 days apart. She is the only girl baby on the Mattson side.



And then to end this great day, Parker with out even being asked got Benson ready for bed! Thank you Jared, and my wonderful boys i love you all SO much.

2 months old.

Well Benson in now 8 weeks old (sniff sniff) I seriously can not believe how fast they grow. I think he has doubled his birth weight, he is such a little chubby and we love it. I think his cheeks alone are half his body weight:) We love you Benson and glad you are part of our family.


Jared was spinning him on the chair so he wouldn't cry. It was really funny, he would stop and Benson would cry and as soon as he started to go he stopped. I have a video of that i will have to post it.

He passed the test

We went to have dinner with my Dad and Shari's. Well Benson was put to the test well a couple of tests.

Test number one: How durable am I. This is his cousin Abby and she was just testing to see how much squeezing he could handle.


Test number two: Suck on Grandpa's nose. My Dad has always made the new grand baby's suck on his nose, Sick i know. It is just some weird thing he dose and so far everyone has done it.Tthey also have to take a nap on his chest, Benson has yet to pass that test, he just has not had the time yet for that test.

Test number three: Get new dog to like me. Well he did not pass this one. My Dad's new puppy Milo was very jealous that my Dad had someone else besides him on his lap. He was pulling the blanket trying to get him off, it was really cute.
